Function and Scope
- Provide safe, high quality, cost-effective, technical support to Maintenance/Reliability initiatives. Develop and implement comprehensive Reliability Centered Maintenance strategy within the area(s) assigned actions that support achievement of goals, objectives, and key performance metrics.
- Work with the area Operations and Maintenance staff to implement effective strategic maintenance initiatives that support achievement of reliability goals, objectives, key performance metrics, maintenance cost objectives, and capital projects execution.
- Provide leadership and support to ensure Mechanical/Reliability program is in compliance with OSHA requirements and Company policies.
- Ensure effective utilization and integrity of the computerized maintenance management system (SAP), including program and equipment upgrades, training, implementation, and modifications as needed to meet established goals and objectives.
- Provide leadership and direction for planning, lubrication, and precision maintenance systems and disciplines in the area(s) assigned.
- Provide leadership and direction to programs, lead maintenance benchmarking activities, and implement and share Strategic Maintenance Performance Metrics to improve cost productivity, plant reliability, and achieve “World Class” maintenance excellence.
- Provide systemic interventions to improve the overall reliability of all equipment, not just a gradual improvement one piece of equipment at a time. Utilize root cause failure analysis (RCFA) to improve overall reliability.
- Provide specific training to technicians to eliminate Mechanical Reliability downtime and chronic issues.
- Be able to achieve results through others and non-direct reports.
- Provide visibility for key Mechanical Reliability leading indicators.
- Sets Precision Maintenance (equipment fits and tolerances/alignment/balancing) Program direction with Maintenance Management Reliability Leader.
- Responsible for development and implementation of effective programs for training employees
- Ensure target, tolerance and test philosophy is a cultural value.
- Actively support the planning effort for the annual shutdown to include; job planning, job coordination, resource planning and financial management.
- Build a plan to eliminate unscheduled downtime and ensure the majority of maintenance is planned work.
- Facilitate, plan and direct partial and plant -wide maintenance outages.
- Project manager for Capital Projects and maintenance projects related to mechanical reliability.
- Other duties, projects as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Prefer a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent professional work experience.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, PLC, and DCs.
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
- Experience with reliability improvement systems, methods, and technologies.
- Prefer RCFA, Lean, and Six Sigma training certification.
- Experience working with predictive and precision maintenance tools.
- Experience and knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling practices.
- Prefer experience with SAP system.
- Prefer additional Engineering, Maintenance, and/or Reliability certifications.
