Production Manager

Production Manager

The Production Manager will be a versatile position with responsibilities in overseeing operations and manufacturing engineering. This position will be responsible for the Sheet Metal/Electronic Production areas

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for a group of Production Supervisors and Manufacturing Engineers
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a multi-skilled group of hourly team members for sheet metal assembly cells
  • Work closely with operations leadership to ensure that the business goals are implemented and achieved
  • Ensure employees are adequately trained and work in a safe and environmentally sound manner
  • Execute business decisions in a fair and equitable manner, support regular toolbox meetings, and provide two-way communications, consistent application of policy/work rules, clear, consistent communication of organizational goals and objectives
  • Responsibility for driving critical safety, performance and quality metrics
  • Responsibility to track critical line issues and provide resolution to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Training to be provided, expectation is for candidate to possess superior working skills in factory floor
  • Apply, lean and other continuous improvement techniques to develop and implement process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing quality, throughput and delivery integrity
  • Financial Management
  • Partners with Senior Operations Manager to establish appropriate budget goals aligned with external product demand and internal strategy
  • Delivers financial commitments to optimize short term performance and long term sustainable growth while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies, while meeting or exceeding objectives of asset management as well as effective management of obsolescence costs
  • Appropriately allocates resources to align with performance goals
  • Conducts appropriate financial reviews to monitor business performance
  • Enhances and ensures financial forecasting accuracy
  • Understands external financial pressures, anticipates potential effect on business, and takes appropriate action
  • Formulates and recommends to senior leadership both long and short-range objectives, goals and policies for the business in terms of product costs, delivery cycles, quality, manpower requirements, facilities and such other subjects which may have a major impact on the profits and growth of the Plant or the Company

 

 

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of operations leadership experience
  • Demonstrated analytical aptitude, problem-solving skills, conflict resolution skills, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-directed with excellent practices, processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated flexibility / adaptability in high stress, ambiguous environments
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize
  • Demonstrated ability to implement lean principles and reduce waste
  • Proven track record of supervising people and managing projects
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership and experience working in operations or industrial setting
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP

 

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or related discipline required
  • Master’s Degree preferred
