International Controller

QUALIFICATIONS:

7+ years experience in finance / accounting with expanding level of responsibility; Working knowledge of FASB / GAAP / GAP accounting pronouncements; BS in Accounting/Finance; Strong leadership skills; Proven ability to work effectively with cross functional groups and senior leadership; Change agent with process mindset; Excellent project management skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities; Solid IT skills including Excel, Oracle GL, Hyperion, OFA, Business Objects, and an understanding relational databases.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead efforts to establish, implement, and monitor controllership for Canadian business activities (Assets of ~$1.5B and net income of $20MM+), as well as act as the key owner for all accounting operations initiatives and activities associated with CDF Canada's cross border business transactions; Lead staff of three in the areas of General Accounting and Reporting; Ensure processes and procedures are completed in accordance with GAAP and Policies; Oversee monthly closing process and coordinate with CDF Global Controller and Financial reporting team; Review/analyze accounts and financials for accuracy and compliance; Champion Sox 404 efforts around internal controls/testing for CDF Canada; Drive simplification and digitization initiatives to continuously improve controllership environment; Maintain six-sigma account reconciliation process; Assist CDF CFO as well as the CDF Controller on key projects as assigned; Assist FP&A and the CS Tax organization in planning sessions and other activities as necessary; Design and implement improved balance sheet and operational metrics / dashboards
