| Responsibilities:
- Key team member and leader responsible for assisting in the identification,
sourcing and closing of M&A, platform, asset acquisition, and/or
JV opportunities in alignment with strategic and operating plans
- Develop and maintain relationships with financial institutions (e.g.
banks, insurance and life companies, investment banks, non-bank financial
institutions) to originate new sources of business and transactions
- Effectively leverage relationships with investment banks and key
intermediaries to extend business development originations network
- Work closely with customers and/or prospects as well as business
P&L and product managers to devise tactical execution plans in support
of growth strategies and/or risk management together with other business
development professionals
- Prepare analysis for targeted acquisition opportunities, assist in
determining investment strategies and participate in management strategy
meetings and deal screen reviews
- Work effectively with and/or Lead cross-functional due diligence
teams to analyze and qualify targeted acquisition opportunities, complete
due diligence, obtain approvals and close transactions
- Responsible for transaction evaluation; ensure completion of comprehensive
and accurate financial analysis and modeling of prospective investments;
pro-actively improve valuation process as required
- Provide leadership, support and direction to other business development
professionals and cross-functional team members associated with the
deal process
- Participate or take the lead in negotiating transaction agreements
- Assist in the development of new product introductions, as opportunities
arise
- Deliver high quality executive presentations and communications
- Assist in building and maintaining the business development pipeline
Qualifications / Requirements:
- MBA or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of real estate experience, preferably in investment banking,
M&A or originations
- Strong working knowledge of real estate valuation methodologies and
market(s)
- Outstanding communication skills – both written and verbal; excellent
interpersonal and listening skills; strong executive presence
- Excellent business acumen and analytical skills; ability to perform
value-added research quickly
- Accomplished negotiator
- Ability to perform well under pressure; creative and resourceful
- Enthusiastic team player; driven; values contributions of others
- Exceptional computer skills – modeling, excel, power point, word
and other technical applications (e.g. quick place, sametime)
- Strong transactional bias
- Ability to travel, as required (up to 50% of the time)
